Leather itself is a wind barrier, not insulation. What makes a jacket winter-capable in Canada is what is inside it: shearling beats everything, quilted linings handle the shoulder seasons, and unlined leather is a fall jacket, full stop.
By Region
- Vancouver & the coast (0 to 8°C, wet): a lined biker or trucker handles the whole winter. Leather shrugs off drizzle better than wool coats - just condition it regularly (guide here).
