- Real shearling vs faux. Real shearling is one natural piece - hide outside, wool inside - and it regulates moisture as well as heat. Faux is warmer than nothing and cheaper, but it mats and does not breathe.
- Collar size. A collar that cannot fully close around your neck is decoration. Test it before the first cold snap.
