The bomber is the most useful jacket silhouette in a Canadian wardrobe, because the same shape exists in versions that span September to January. The question is which version you need.
Three Bombers, Three Seasons
- Unlined or lightly lined leather bomber - September and October, roughly 8-18°C. Blocks wind, layers over a knit.
- Quilted or fur-lined bomber - November, 0-8°C. The workhorse of a Canadian autumn.

By Province
- BC coast: a lined leather bomber genuinely covers most of the winter. Rain is the variable, not cold - condition regularly.
- Ontario and Quebec: you want the fur-lined or shearling version by mid-November. Lake-effect wind is what decides this, not the thermometer.
- Prairies: shearling, and consider a fur hood rather than a collar (hood guide).
- Atlantic Canada: wind and damp together - prioritise a jacket that closes fully at the collar and cuffs.
Why the Bomber Shape Works Here

What to Check Before Ordering
- Ribbing that snaps back. Stretched ribbing lets cold air straight in - the single most important detail on a winter bomber.
- Full lining including sleeves.
- Metal hardware. Plastic zips get brittle below -15°C. This matters in practice, not theory.
- Room for one mid-layer, not two (fit test).

We ship free to Canada with 30-day returns; delivery typically 10-15 business days. Duties or import fees may apply on arrival and are set by CBSA. Order winter styles by late October - shearling sizes go first, and arriving in January defeats the purpose.
Care Through Salt Season
